The cognitive, language, physical and social skills of most rapidly developing three year old's are significantly unique from other ages. Three's are not toddlers and they are not ready for a rigorous Pre-K program. They have unique characteristics, needs and developmental milestones. They are transitioning from parallel play to interactive play, and their language capacity is blossoming. Our curriculum is designed to meet these needs in three specific areas.
Our Discovery Pre-K Learning Domains
Literacy Development
Our three's will be set in a language rich environment essential for developing both receptive and expressive language skills. The alphabet will be introduced and reinforced weekly through activities, photo cards, and use of sign language. This is accompanied by vocabulary development and phonological awareness through engaging read-alouds. Writing and fine motor skills are also developed and practiced.
Foundational Math
Children will be offered activities that support logical reasoning and problem solving to support development of beginning mathematical skills. Each week, three's will have a range of activities to provide plenty of opportunities to identify patterns, order, and numeration.
Social Bridge
Through interactive play, sharing and caring they are taught to show genuine affection and concern for their friends.
